The Cellar’s Antonio Dvorak got a call on Wednesday March 26 that he couldn’t say “no” to. He was asked to fight in a heavyweight Muay Thai fight against Manny Mancha (7-1) in Las Vegas, NV on the under-card of Lion Fight 14 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. He had only 48 hrs notice, but he and trainer Chris Cichon packed their bags and left the following morning for Vegas and the official weigh-ins.
The pair from The Cellar were joined by Las Vegas based trainer and friend, Shawn Yarborough at Antonio stepped into the ring with confidence at The Joint Event Center at the Hard Rock Hotel. The fight started off patiently with both fighters testing each other with kicks and looking to control the ring, but Antonio pushed the action to the ropes and landed some huge knees on the inside. As both fighters pummeled for position Antonio landed a mixture of uppercuts and body punches looking to slow down his opponent. After landing a big shot to the body that brought Manny Mancha’s head forward, Antonio threw a vicious uppercut that cut the eye open of Mancha. The round ended and the referee and fight doctor called the fight off due to the cut.
Antonio Dvorak picked up the win via TKO and improves to 5-1. It was a great night of fights and we are incredibly thankful to Lion Fight Promotions for the opportunity to be a part of this fantastic event.
