The Cellar Gym brought three competitors to the Next Champ Challenger Series kickboxing event on July 23 in Louisville, KY: Taylor Meyers, Antonio Salazar Jensen, and junior fighter Liam Doo.

Liam Doo, already a very exciting fighter to watch in action, really turned up his game! He dropped his opponent in round 1 with a beautiful head kick. After two more rounds of exciting and stylish action from both fighters, Liam got his arm raised with the unanimous decision win. Congratulations Liam!

After a slow first round, Antonio Salazar Jensen really found his groove and battled his way back into the fight. His decisive cross and low kick strategy was able to stuff his opponent’s game, and Antonio came away with the decision win.

Taylor had a very competitive and closely matched fight. Taylor displayed excellent boxing, adjusted well between rounds, and even dropped her opponent with a few vicious leg kicks. We thought Taylor did enough to get the win, but unfortunately she dropped a close split decision. Great fight by both ladies, nice work!
