In September, The Cellar Gym was deeply honored to host a two-day Muay Thai seminar with Ajarn Chai Sirisute, founder of the World Thai Boxing Association. In addition, we also hosted a special dinner event to honor Ajarn Chai, as well as a silent auction fundraiser.
Over the two days of this weekend seminar, we welcomed over 100 Muay Thai students and coaches from around Minnesota and the Midwest. Together, we enjoyed over 12 hours of incredible Muay Thai training, with many sessions led by some of the most accomplished and high-level coaches in the country.
We were also thrilled at the success of our dinner and silent auction event that Saturday! The food was delicious, the company was excellent, and our team of volunteers did an amazing job transforming our gym into an impressive sit-down dinner event.
As most in our community already know, this seminar and our dinner event were held as a fundraiser in support of Coach Chris Cichon and his family as they navigate Chris’ recent cancer diagnosis and treatment. In total, we raised well over $20,000 to support the Cichon family and alleviate some of the financial stresses associated with treatment (which has been extremely successful!).
We are so honored and grateful to have been a part of this amazing gathering, and for the opportunity to host an event like this one. Thank you to everyone for participating, supporting, and being a part of our community!
